Become a Champion for Children

unicef

Last week, I came across a UNICEF Philippines booth in the mall. The volunteers talk about UNICEF’s programs and achievements, as well as their current advocacy “Champions for Children.” Champions for Children is a community of individuals whose regular contributions enable the most vulnerable children in the Philippines and worldwide to enjoy the rights to education, healthcare and nutrition, and protection from violence, abuse and exploitation. (Kindly refer to unicef.ph for the definition of Champions for Children)

It is mainly a fund raising for the said advocacy that solely relies upon voluntary contribution. It is a kind of committed funding which encourages champions to support the cause for 2 years. A small amount, when pooled together, could make a difference in the lives of children. Below are the 3 monthly plans in which you can help.

PHP 750/month or 25/day
Helps provide for 11 children with emergency supplies, including water containers and water purification tablets, in times of disaster.

PHP 600/month or 20/day
Helps provide for 7 children with books and school supplies to stay in school.

PHP 500/month or 16/day
Helps save 2 children from severe acute malnutrition with Ready-to-use therapeutic food, vitamins and minerals.

Once you become a member of this community, you will:
– Receive a project reports and regular updates from beneficiaries and UNICEF staff
– Certificate of Appreciation
– Tokens
– Champions for Children ID

We can all help give a child a life, a chance and a choice.
